Disaster Recovery Services
A disaster for a data center is defined as any computer services suffering from any interruptions beyond an acceptable amount of time.. The term .acceptable amount of time. is defined differently for every data center within a business or government. The question is: How long can that organization survive a disaster without the computing resources to recover from the disaster?
A disaster recovery plan documents resources and procedures to be used and guides technical staff in the recovery of computing and network facilities in the event that a disaster destroys all or part of the facilities. Each supported computing platform has a section containing specific recovery procedures. There are also sections that document the personnel that will be needed to perform the recovery tasks and an organizational structure for the recovery process.
When a disaster occurs without a plan, there are delays in recovery due to a lack of understanding of recovery priorities, lack of knowledge of available resources and loss of valuable time that could prove financially fatal. A plan avoids financial loss and embarassment for state government, as well as satisfying ethical and legal obligations to employees, customers and users. Operating state government without plans for a disaster is risky! As the ever rapid growth and advances in technology quickly outdates the plan, it is crucial that the recovery plan be reviewed and upgraded frequently.
We offer high-availability disaster-recovery planning and testing.
