Network Equipment

DII evaluates hardware decisions very carefully and understands that the stability and support is critical to maintaining enterprise wide operational performance.

Vendor evaluation is often inadequate, overweighting pricing and systems criteria over people and performance management or biasing vendor selection based on past business relationships rather than a pragmatic evaluation of capabilities.

DII has standardized on CISCO equipment for networking systems. We regularly evaluate industry leading vendors to ensure the State’s best interest is being served by the hardware solutions we are implementing. Though other manufacturer's network equipment can also be used, the management, maintenance, support channels, ongoing support training of network equipment is made easier and usually less expensive by standardizing on equipment manufacturer.

The State currently has a contract with Atrion Networking to provide both pre- and post-sale support along with the provision of CISCO equipment. Look here for a copy of the contract with Atrion, which includes the pricing discounts as negotiated.
