DII has an enterprise contract with GeoTrust which will provide Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificates. Please visit the GeoTrust site to obtain the certificates.  Be prepared to provide the following: 

You will need to generate a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) on the server the certificate is to be installed on and upload this to GeoTrust.  If you are unfamiliar with the process, please see these detailed instructions for common web servers.  If your web server is not included in the list, please open a Footprints Helpdesk Support System ticket and we will do our best to assist you.

You will also be asked to provide three contacts:

•  Administrative Contact:   Digital Certificate Administrator,  (802) 828-3544,  digital-certificates@dii.state.vt.us.   This is very important.  If you do not use the correct contact information we will not receive notice of your pending order and you will not receive your certificate in a timely manner. 
• Technical Contact:.  Please provide the name, phone number and e-mail address of your server administrator, or server-support team.
• Billing Contact:   DII will bill back your department at cost.  Please provide the name, address and e-mail for the person the invoice should be directed to.

If you plan on purchasing multiple certificates at the same time, or a certificate with a term greater than two years, please contact us first to ensure sufficient portal credits will be available for your use. 

To obtain an S/MIME Certificate, please open a Footprints Helpdesk Support System ticket.  Please provide the names and e-mail addresses of the staff you wish to obtain certificates for.  We will quote you current pricing and we will direct an invitation to download a certificate, and the Personal Identification Number needed to obtain it, to each person.
