DII has contracted with GlobalSign for ManagedSSL services. GlobalSign has pre-vetted many state domains such as vermont.gov, vt.gov and state.vt.us allowing DII staff to issue, reissue, renew, and revoke OrganizationSSL certificates for those domains and their subdomains on demand and issue DomainSSL certificates at an expedited speed and reduced cost.

OrganizationSSL:

The OrganizationSSL certificates will be issued with the Organization name of “State of Vermont Department of Information and Innovation”. Your Agency or Department is named below that.

DomainSSL:

If your Agency or Department requires a different Organization field for the certificate, we can also issue DomainSSL certificates via the ManagedSSL portal. This may require one or two extra steps to validate domain ownership prior to certificate issuance (depending on the domain name to be secured), but allows DII to extend the reduced contract pricing to the rest of state government.

SAN, IP, Wildcard:

We can provide certificates that support special features such as securing multiple subject alternative names (SAN) and/or IP addresses with a single certificate. We can also obtain wildcard certificates which secure a domain and dependent subdomains.
