Major Milestones Accomplished

Description of the project: The goal of this project is to optimize the delivery of information technology solutions to the Agency of Administration, its departments and customers. During Phase 3, the consolidation of information technology staff and systems in the Department of Buildings and General Services and Libraries under the Department of Information and Innovation will take place. While the primary driver for this consolidation is efficiencies, we fully expect service support levels on the whole to improve. An SLA will outline benchmarks and measures to ensure that both costs savings and the improvements in quality are tracked.

Significant Accomplishments This Period:
  • Quick wins have been identified
  • All systems have been documented and are in process of being reviewed
  • Help Desk Phase 1 has been implemented (with appropriate communication to end users)
  • FootPrints training was provided to BGS and LIB IT and Business staff
  • All BGS/LIB network devices have transitioned into DII management
  • BGS employees have moved (Angela L is the only remaining move)

Planned Accomplishments Next Period:
  • LIB employee moves 6/1/09
  • Transition plan development for LIB – June
  • Transition plan execution for LIB and BGS – July
  • BGS network hardware transition – 5/22/09
  • AD migration (dependant project) for LIB – June, BGS – July

Additional Comments or Highlights Not Reflected Above:
  • The amount of collaboration happening between these IT groups is phenomenal.   Although the project schedule has slipped slightly (overall increase of 2 weeks) the amount of system documentation and analysis that has transpired places system support in a much better position.
  • All BGS employees have begun supporting enterprise initiatives.
  • Help Desk Phase 1 transition has gone extremely well.
  • This project thus far is a huge win!
