What is This Service?

The Web Content Management System (WCMS) is a tool for State of Vermont Website content managers to design and implement Web sites. The infrastructure created for the WCMS is designed in such a way that it is a tool available across the enterprise for managing Web resources. For individuals or programs that publish Web content, the WCMS will allow non-technical staff of individual state government organizations to manage their own Web content on a remote server using only their current Web browser with a built-in editor.

Service Exclusions

  • The site owner is responsible for the creation of a site design including a proposed site map and a description of secondary navigation. This must be provided before a new site is created.  Assistance with this step is available through the Web Design contract. Cost for this is based on quotes from vendors on a Statement of Work provided by the site owner.
  • Online application development is not included in this service. For this refer to the Online Application service description.

  • DII Service Desk: Monday –Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 pm
Non-Business Hours

DII does not traditionally respond to issues after business hours. DII staff is only available via "best effort" after hours. Support calls placed after 4:30 PM and weekends/holidays will be redirected to Contact Communications. Issues requiring immediate attention will be forwarded to the appropriate DII employee who will triage the reported issue and follow proper procedures to restore activities to normal operations.

  • Second level .gov domains require federal approval after an official request from the state CIO and require several weeks or months to complete.

Resolution Goal

  • Issues will be prioritized and resolved based on priority.  Please refer to the Customer Support (Service Desk) Service for definitions of priority levels and resolution goals for each level.

Service Costing

  • For standard sites, there will be no hosting cost, no development cost
  • For a .gov second level subdomain the cost will be $400 per year
  • For all other domains (.com, .org, .info, etc.) retail price will be applied
