What is this Service?

The Department of Information and Innovation (DII) is responsible for overseeing and incorporating the design, development and installation of flexible cabling infrastructures for all State of Vermont facilities that require voice, data, video and/or multimedia services.

Note:  DII has the option to either perform required work utilizing personnel, or establish a contract with vendor. The decision is dependent on availability and/or size of the cabling project.

How Do I Obtain This Service?

User Request Process for Service Features

Note:  All Voice and Data cabling installations, upgrades, and repairs must be requested through DII Telecommunications to ensure State Wiring Standards are implemented and coordination is maintained with the affected department/agency.

Service Exclusions

  • Cabling contractors will accept work requests only from DII Telecommunications.  No department/agency is authorized to contact vendors directly for services required.
  • DII will maintain the list of current vendors utilized to perform this work.

How Do I Receive Support for this Service?

To request support for this service, contact the Service Desk to open a support ticket.

Service Maintenance Schedule

  • There is no designated re-occurring maintenance window.  Installation schedules are established through agreements with DII Telecommunications, contract vendor(s), and department/agency requesting cabling installations, upgrades and/or maintenance.

Service Performance Goal

Support Availability

  • During regular business hours (M-F, 7:45 am – 4:30 pm) contact DII Service Desk
  • During non-business hours (after 4:30 PM and weekends/holidays) will be redirected to Contact Communications. Issues requiring immediate action will be forwarded to DII Telecom standby personnel who attempt to restore services for department/agency locations.

  • Dependent upon extent of project and availability of resources.

  • Pricing is based on the current State contract with the vendor(s) and the work required.
