DII develops and promulgates statewide information technology (IT) policies established by the state Chief Information Officer (CIO) under the authority of the Secretary of Administration. These policies help to protect public assets and information in a consistent manner across state agencies by setting standards and defining best practices.
The department also generates regular and special reports to communicate the state's IT plans and progress to other state institutions and the public. This includes planning documents both for DII and for the state as a whole.
We also publish IT related directives and guidence for other state entitites to assist in managing projects and programs with an IT component.
