Benefits

This team manages strategic service providers to deliver a high degree of available voice services to all employees of the State of Vermont.  Our telecommunications carriers include Fairpoint Communications and VTel for telephone station, voicemail, local, and long distance telephone calling.  The team also works with E911 service provider in ensuring the state’s workforce is properly identified in the emergency responder database for the State.

The State has two dedicated Telecommunication Help Desk Specialist who answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming telephone, e-mail and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems or requiring new services.   The team ensures that responses or resolutions to questions, problems or configuration changes are handled in a timely manner and follow-up with end-user once problem is solved or the solution is installed.
