The Vision for the Future of Web Services in the State of Vermont

The state launched a new, comprehensive Web site in September, 2007. This site, known as the Vermont.gov Web Portal, embodies the state’s initiative to bring efficiency and standardization to common business processes within state government. Such a project also represents an opportunity to bring the state fully into the digital age.

This project is intended to benefit all state branches, partners, and citizens. It will improve customer satisfaction and greatly reduce transaction costs.

Currently many independent systems provide the identical Web services for various organizations throughout state government. The Web Portal Project provides a common solution, development environment, and Web hosting environment for the entire state.
