The Web Portal Board was founded to oversee the development of a self-funded web portal and establish charges for the services it provides; development, implementation, and promotion of electronic commerce applications involving the State of Vermont; and drafting and implementation by the Agency of Digital Services of the contract with the web portal service provider.
The Board is defined in statute Title 22, Chapter 16 §§ 950 - 953
The Board also serves in an advisory capacity to the Agency of Digital Services and other State agencies regarding the dissemination and collection of State data to and from the citizens and businesses of Vermont.
Board Representation
By statute the Board consists of 12 members as follows:
- The Secretary of Digital Services or designee
- The Secretary of State or designee
- The Secretary of Administration or designee
- The State Librarian or designee
- The Court Administrator or designee
- The Chief Marketing Officer of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development or designee;
- The Chief Data Officer of the Agency of Digital Services or designee
- One member or designee who is an officer of the Executive Branch, other than of the Department of Finance and Management, the Agency of Digital Services, and the Department of Libraries, and who shall be appointed by the Governor
- Two members appointed by the Vermont State Employees’ Association
- One member of the House of Representatives who is also a member of the Legislative Information Technology Committee, appointed by the Speaker of the House
- One member of the Vermont Senate who is also a member of the Legislative Information Technology Committee, appointed by the Committee on Committees.
